Why we opened Sadiqi

The Sadiqi family came to London from Afghanistan and settled in East London, building a life for themselves in the neighbourhood around Stratford Rd. Along the way, they noticed something missing: a genuinely good local butcher, one that cut meat fresh to order and stocked the everyday groceries the community actually needed, without having to travel across the city for it.

So in 2026, they opened Sadiqi Butchers & Groceries — a shop built around the basics done properly: 100% halal chicken, lamb and beef, cut fresh to order, fresh Afghan naan baked throughout the day, and everyday grocery essentials on the shelves, all a message away on WhatsApp.

We're a brand new shop and a family business first. We don't have fancy certifications or years of reviews to point to yet — what we do have is fresh meat, fair prices, and a genuine effort to serve our neighbours well. We'd love for you to be one of our first customers.
